About
Claire Miller, Cognitive- Behavioural Therapist
Career History:
After qualifying as a Social Worker in 2005, I began a career as a counsellor for individuals with substance problems. I provided 1-1 counselling and group work both in residential and community settings, working with adults with alcohol and drug problems, and children affected by parental substance use.
This is when I began using CBT in practice and saw the many benefits that clients gained from it. I worked as a Lecturer in Social Work for 14 years (whilst also working as a CBT therapist for some of this time), teaching subjects such as Counselling Theory and Practice, Human Growth and Behaviour, Working with People with Substance Problems, and Professional Ethics, amongst others.
I completed my PG Dip in CBT at the University of the West of Scotland, and now work as a CBT / ACT Counsellor full time at Gemini Counselling.
